“The Wild Thornberrys Movie” is a spin off of the successful Nickelodeon animated television show about Nigel and Marianne Thornberry who travel around the world making documentary films with their three very different children. Eliza, the 12 year old, (voiced by Lacey Chabert) can talk to animals, which comes in very handy while traveling in a van across Africa.

But such a skill can get you into trouble, especially when you don’t listen to your mother. Eliza’s disobedience results in the abduction of a baby cheetah and she is sent away to boarding school in Britain as a punishment. But if you think this will stop Eliza from doing what she thinks is right, then you don’t know Eliza.

This charming family fare film entertains while it demonstrates the value of believing in one’s self, and taking responsibility for your actions. Klasky Csupo animation studios produced the film. They also brought us (or inflicted on us depending on your perspective) those crazy kids, the Rugrats. This film stars the voicing talents of Brenda Blethyn, Rupert Everett, Lynn Redgrave as well as the TV show regulars who include Tim Curry.
