Jeff Wilson did what he said for months he would do: toss his hard hat into the ring for Position 3 on the Edmonds City Council.
The incumbent who is looking to return to the council for a second term is being challenged by community activist Ron Wambolt and Bart Preecs, chairman of the city’s volunteer citizen board on technology. His seat is one of three council races being contested this fall.
Wilson works as a senior project manager with MulvannyG2 Architecture in Bellevue. He has 18 years of city planning experience, 10 of which he gained as planning supervisor for Edmonds.
He, his wife and two daughters have lived in Edmonds 14 years.
While sitting on the council, Wilson has served on the Edmonds Aquatic Advisory Committee and Snohomish County Marine Resources Advisory Committee. He has also done work with the Highway 99 Urban Design Task Force, Snohomish County Tomorrow Planning Advisory Committee and Paine Field Planning Study Advisory Committee.
Because of the three-person race for Position 3, the contest will appear on September’s primary ballot before the two top vote-getters advance to the general-election ballot in November.
