The phenomenon of witnessing council work sessions followed by Mountlake Terrace City Council meetings and see five people consistently vote in unison with little discussion was like “rubber stamper’s.” Councilman Doug Wittinger was refreshing as a constantly questioning vigilant person. His question was always ” How does this affect the citizens or the neighborhoods?” I am saddened by his decision to move from our city and to quit the council. What a loss for us all. Edmonds will gain a prize and I will mourn the death of democracy for the people in Mountlake Terrace.
