Children will love ‘Chillin’ Good Fun’

Imagine Children’s Museum is bringing a special holiday present to local families.

On Nov. 24, the museum kicks off its new “Chillin’ Good Fun Holiday Series” that includes “The North Pole Party” and the “Home for the Holidays Event” along with a “Polar City” event, some New Year’s Eve fun and the first Nighttime New Year’s Eve Family Party and Ball Drop.

The chillin’ series begins with the “North Pole Party” on Saturday. Activities begin at 10 a.m. when Santa takes visitors until 3:30 p.m. at the museum, 1502 Wall St., Everett.

Mrs. Claus will have story times, games and music from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The annual lighting ceremony for the museum’s Christmas tree will run from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Kids can create a cinnamon ornament for $1 or a 3D reindeer for free.

The museum closes at 5 p.m. Activities are included with the $9 price of admission.

The “Home for the Holidays” event takes place Dec. 8 with holiday fun activities and special performances.

The “Polar City” event occurs Dec. 22 with an interactive holiday puppet show at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., carpet skating, the elves workshop and a strolling polar bear.

There’s a daytime and an evening New Year’s Party on Dec. 31. The daytime party is from noon to 4 p.m., with a performance by the multicultural Gansango Music and Dance Company at 2 p.m. This party is free with museum admission.

The evening party is from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 31 with the Ball Drop at 9 p.m. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers.
