Kamiak | Baseball

The senior first baseman crushed a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie and lead Kamiak to a win over Shorecrest in a nonleague game.

Tiffany DeWayne

Meadowdale | Softball

The Mavericks junior hit a two-run double for the game-winning runs as Meadowdale beat crosstown rival Lynnwood 5-3 on Friday to start the season 2-0. DeWayne also had a double in the Mavs’ 7-2 win over Edmonds-Woodway.

Zach Bush

Kamiak | Boys soccer

The Knights forward scored twice in Kamiak’s 3-0 win over Edmonds-Woodway on Friday to start the season 2-0 and also had a goal in the team’s 3-1 win over Jackson in the season opener.

Quinn Michael

Jackson | Girls tennis

The Timberwolves No. 2 singles player beat Glacier Peak’s Mia Selin 6-0, 6-4 to help Jackson edge Glacier Peak 4-3 in a nonleague match.

Cameron Metcalfe

Cascade | Boys golf

The Bruins golfer shot a four-under par 29 to lead Cascade to a second-place finish at a six-team tournament at Lynnwood Golf Course on Wednesday. Metcalfe also shot a 42 at the annual Mud Match but Cascade dropped the showdown to crosstown rival Everett.

Rene Kwak

Jackson | Girls golf

The Timberwolvers golfer shot a 38, three shots better than the next best golfer, and just four shots over par to lead Jackson to a first-place finish at a six-team tournament at Nile Golf Course.

Spencer Tu, Chris Namba, Samuel Smith and David Fan

Shorewood | boys track

The four members of the 800-meter relay team broke the school record with a time of 1 minute, 33.55 seconds in the first meet of the year.

Lyndsay Leatherman

Arlington | Girls track

The Eagles thrower finished first in the shot put (37 feet, 4 inches) and javelin (131-2) and was runner-up behind teammate Marissa Swegle in the discus (97-9) at the Chuck Randall Relays on Saturday
