Prep boys tennis: Wesco 4A South Tournament

MILL CREEK — After dropping the first set in a tiebreaker, Cascade’s Patrick Chung came back and defeated Ben Mietzner of Jackson 6-7 (2-7 in the tiebreaker), 6-4, 6-2 to win the Wesco 4A South Tournament’s singles title.

Jimmy Hua defeated Kamiak teammate Joseph Lee 6-3, 6-2 in the third/fourth-place game.

In the doubles tournament, Jackson’s senior team of Peter Cung and Luke George defeated Dominic Lee and Garrett Peterson (Kamiak) 6-3, 7-6 (7-3 in the tiebreaker). The Timberwolves also got a victory in the third/fourth-place match with Josh Yi and Bence Dare defeating Lynnwood’s Ryan Tsuji and Thu Yein 6-4, 6-1.

Fifth/sixth (alternate): Brandon Pel (Lynnwood) def. Grayson Turley (Edmonds-Woodway), won by default. Doubles—Championship: Peter Cung-Luke George (Jackson) def. Dominic Lee-Garrett Peterson (Kamiak), 6-3, 7-6 (7-3). Third/fourth: Josh Yi-Bence Dare (Jackson) def. Ryan Tsuji-Yein (Lynnwood), 6-4, 6-1. Fifth/sixth (alternate): Alex Hoang-Kal Johal (Mariner) def. Lan Kim-Oliver Collin (Kamiak), 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
