CBS would Rather not: CBS News declined to invite back veteran newsman Dan Rather to participate in its 50th anniversary coverage of the John F. Kennedy assassination. The network denied the snub was because of bad blood between it and Rather, the only living CBS broadcaster who was part of the day’s coverage.
Nor should Rather take it personally that CBS is restaging his historic clips and has asked Anderson Cooper, hair dyed black, to play the part of Rather.
