There’s personal; then there’s personal: The IRS is being sued after a data breach compromised the personal information of at least 330,000 taxpayers. Hackers took advantage of a service that allowed taxpayers to see the information they had filed.
“What’s the big deal?” said an IRS official. “It’s only taxpayers’ personal information. It’s not like we let them get the email addresses of Ashley Madison members.”
