Logorrhea
Let go of my logo: The city of Everett has decided not to use a new logo it commissioned through a design contest with a $5,000 prize after it was learned the winning design too closely resembled the logo of a financial investment firm. The city’s legal team said it could have used the logo without worrying about trademark infringement, because there was no risk of confusing the city with a financial firm (Page A1).
After spending $5,000 for a logo it can’t use, nope, no one’s confusing the city with financial geniuses.
This is going to be yuuuuge: An Associated Press poll says 7 of 10 Republican Party voters believe Donald Trump is the party’s best chance at winning the White House in the general election (Page A7).
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, D-Hot Mail, said the only better news would be another invitation to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1965, The Beatles received medals as members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire from Queen Elizabeth II (Today in History, Page B4).
The queen, betraying her preference, also bestowed on Paul McCartney the medal making him a member of the Most Excellent Order of The Cute One.
