Squeeze in

Squeeze in

Cozy up to your neighbor: After a couple weeks of relief, the SnoCo Squeeze is expected to return this weekend as northbound I-5 is reduced to two narrow lanes near Marysville and the onramp from Highway 529 to I-5 is closed as expansion joint work continues.

With a little cooperation we can get through this: If the folks in the back will push, the rest of us in front can close our eyes and get a nap in.

The $1.50 hot dog and soda makes it a real deal: In a new Associated Press poll, two-thirds of Americans say they would have difficulty pulling together the money to cover a $1,000 emergency, a sign of a continued slow recovery from the Great Recession.

The poll was conducted while Americans stood in line at Coscto with carts loaded with about $1,000 worth of big-screen TVs, stereo sound systems and reclining sofas.

Man, what are you doin’ here? Singer Billy Joel performs tonight at Seattle’s Safeco Field. Recently the Library of Congress added his hit “Piano Man” to its National Recording Registry of music.

It’s not as big an honor as you might assume; songs are added to the registry as they come up on a Library of Congress staffer’s Pandora play list.
