The Everett Office of Emergency Management seeks volunteers to help out with the city’s Fourth of July parade. It takes close to 200 city employees and 80 volunteers to make sure the parade flows smoothly, with a safe, fun atmosphere.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs, including checking in parade participants, walking as “parade ambassadors,” handing out water, helping communication through ham radio and tracking equipment and supplies.
Volunteers need to participate in three weeknight meetings before the parade for training. The day itself will likely involve up to eight hours of volunteer work.
