Schack Art Center: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday; 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Admission is free. Schack classes include drawing, printmaking, basketry, jewelry and metalsmithing, encaustic, painting, fused glass and blown glass. The exhibit “Voyager: Steve Jensen,” runs Oct. 4 to Nov. 3. Steve Jensen began his “Voyager” series to help navigate grief and loss, and with the hope to provide relief for others dealing with sorrow. Artist reception is 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 4. Arts of the Terrace: The art show, which runs through Oct. 7, is noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1 to 3 p.m. on closing day Oct. 7 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace. Features paintings, prints, drawings, miniatures, photography, 3-D and artisan works by the region’s top artists. More at www.MLTArts.org.

Cascadia Art Museum: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. On third Thursdays, the museum is open until 8 p.m. and is free during Art Walk Edmonds hours, 5 to 8 p.m. The museum is at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds. Calling all artists: The Arlington Arts Council is seeking creative, artistic benches for possible use on the new Arlington Valley Road, which is currently under construction through the city’s industrial zone. The competition is open to artists residing in the Puget Sound region. Successful bench designs will connect with the industrial nature of the location with a nod toward the city’s past, present and/or future. Proposals due Oct. 10. Include a current resume, sketch/image of concept with dimensions and materials labeled, up to five digital images of relevant work and website if available. The budget is $2,500 per bench. Edmonds Arts Festival: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds. Through Nov. 13, on display will be an exhibit that celebrates Hekinan and the 30th anniversary of the Japanese city being Edmonds’ sister city. More at www.edmondsartsfestival.com.

Edmonds Community College: See the exhibit “Vassal Republic” by Romson Regarde Bustillo, an interdisciplinary artist working in mixed media, printmaking and space coding through Dec. 7. Everett Community College: Posters, books, prints and other modern graphic design artifacts from 1950-1980 will be on display through Oct. 26 at the college’s Russell Day Gallery. The artwork for “Graphic Clarity” is from the collection of Everett graphic designer Sean Wolcott, owner of the Seattle design studio Rationale. The gallery is in Parks Student Union, Room 219, at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St., Everett, and is open 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and is closed Saturday and Sunday.

Gallery North: The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 401 Main St., Edmonds; 425-774-0946; www.gallerynorthedmonds.com. The annual “Beauty of Northwest” exhibit will be on display through Oct. 30. The show features about 60 works of art created by dozens of artists from the Pacific Northwest and nationwide.

Mountlake Terrace Library: 23300 58th Ave. W.; 425-776-8722. Christine Forcucci’s paintings on exhibit for the month of October. Forcucci creates paintings that are full of life. When painting her favorite subjects, animals, she is inspired to capture that moment of connection when we understand each other. O’Gormley’s original wood carvings along with his bronze casts will be featured alongside Jasmine Valandani’s ethereal, delicate, abstract works on paper. Solie Funeral Home and Crematory: See Inger Hutton’s artwork through Oct. 17. Hutton was born in Norway, grew up in Canada, and now lives in Everett. She works mainly in watercolor and graphite, with attention to fine detail. In the past year Inger has been concentrating on moths and butterflies, painting species from around the world.
