Drill and competition
Arlington High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps will host a drill and rifle competition from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, at the school at 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd.
Volunteers and spectators are welcome.
They could use donations of gift baskets, raffle items, or volunteer time as a judge, safety observer or score keeper.
Other teams from Marysville and Everett will also participate.
Come to dance: Grab your sweetheart, a friend or come on your own and swing into spring at the Jackson High School Band Booster swing dance Saturday.
Join Arthur Murray Dance Studios at 6 p.m. for complimentary lessons so you can learn all the latest moves to dance the night away.
The jazz bands from Gateway Middle School, Heatherwood Middle School, Jackson High School and Edmonds Community College will play live music from 6:45 until 10 p.m.
The dance is in the commons of Jackson High School 1508136th St. SE in Mill Creek.
Admission is $5. The event benefits music programs at Jackson and nearby middle schools.
Street poetry: Mayhem Poets plans a free performance today at Everett Community College their blend of street poetry that mixes hip-hop, theater, improv and stand-up comedy.
The trio of Kyle Rapps, Scott Raven and Mason Granger met while attending Rutgers University and have been touring internationally since 2006.
Mayhem Poets is scheduled to perform at 12:30 p.m. today at the college in Baker Hall, Room 120, 2000 Tower St., Everett.
