I, Miimo; I, me, mow

I’m afraid I can’t do that, Dave: Honda Motor Co, known for developing the Asimo robot, next year plans to sell a robot lawn mower. The Miimo looks like a large Roomba vacuum cleaner and shaves a fraction of an inch of grass as it meanders around a lawn.

Actually, we’re fine with mowing the law ourselves. What we want is a robot that would go on a search-and-destroy mission for the surprises the neighbor’s dog leaves behind.

Know when to walk away: A federal judge in New York has ruled that poker and other card games aren’t gambling under federal law, calling them games of skill and not chance, resulting in the dismissal of an indictment against a man convicted of running an underground poker club.

Prosecutors said they plan to appeal, claiming they saw the judge flip a coin right before he issued his ruling.

It’s what your parents fall asleep to: For 15 years, Wisconsin’s Beloit College has published its Mindset List to remind professors that college freshmen likely aren’t familiar with the cultural references they know. For instance, the 1998 list notes that the Class of 2002 has never watched “The Tonight Show” with any host other than Jay Leno.

In fact, the Class of 2002 is most likely to ask, “What’s ‘The Tonight Show’?”
