Night of the Living Antique Collectors

It’s just dead in here tonight: A Snohomish pub and steakhouse is hosting a zombie walk, er, shuffle, and party tonight, where about 35 people are expected to dress as the walking dead, wander without purpose and engage in mumbled, incoherent conversation.

Or as it’s know elsewhere in the country: Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Seattle, Occupy Portland, Occupy Oakland … .

Fire sale: An analysis of the electronics that go into Amazon.com’s Kindle Fire revealed that the company likely spends $201.70 to make a tablet computer that it sells for $199. Amazon has said it’s willing to accept a smaller profit on the hardware with the hopes of making larger profits from downloaded content.

That explains why Amazon is charging $200 for the Angry Birds app.

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1794, the United States and Great Britain signed Jay’s Treaty, which resolved some issues left over from the Revolutionary War.

Under terms of the treaty, Britons retained the right to refer to Americans as “you Yanks,” and Americans could continue to make fun of Britons’ poor dental hygiene.
