Sin City is paying homage to iconic singers Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin by giving them each a place on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars.

Las Vegas Walk of Stars spokesman Pablo Castro Zavala said stars for the crooners would be unveiled Feb. 22 in a ceremony at the Flamingo Las Vegas casino-resort. The stars will then be placed in the sidewalk outside the Flamingo on the Las Vegas Strip.

Sinatra and Martin are icons of Sin City entertainment because of their appearances on stage, in film and on television. The Rat Pack performers appeared in the 1960 movie “Ocean’s Eleven,” about a plan to rob five Las Vegas casinos in one night.

Jay Leno has a message for David Letterman: Thanks.

Leno said that “whatever happened in the last 18 years disappeared” when the two comics got together to film their Super Bowl ad last week.

On his prime-time show Monday, Leno said that it was good to see his old friend. He said Letterman was very gracious, and they talked about the old days and told some jokes.

Letterman’s bitterness at losing the “Tonight” show to Leno nearly two decades ago has been obvious, and proved the perfect set-up for a joke about a spoiled Super Bowl party.

Oscar-winning actor Louis Gossett Jr. said he is being treated for prostate cancer.

In the announcement Tuesday, Gossett, 73, says the disease was caught early and he expects to make a full recovery.

Gossett has appeared in dozens of films. He won an Oscar for best supporting actor in 1983 for his portrayal of the no-nonsense Navy flight school sergeant who whips Richard Gere into shape in “An Officer and a Gentleman.”

His memoir, “An Actor and a Gentleman,” is scheduled to be published this year.

Ellen DeGeneres, the newest judge on “American Idol,” said Simon Cowell is “meaner” than she thought.

Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and various guest judges kicked off the ninth season of the Fox singing competition last month. DeGeneres begins her stint Tuesday night.

In a video posted on the show’s Web site, DeGeneres says Cowell is “actually meaner than I thought. It’s hard to listen to him tell people things and for me not to go, ‘You poor thing!’”

Cowell has announced that he’s leaving “Idol” after this season.
