Man sentenced to life in prison for murder of Everett father

In April 2022, Ryan Rafter, 42, shot Christopher Buck, 29, to death after breaking in to his home to steal drugs.

Snohomish County Jail review finds no fault in Florida inmate’s death

David Koeppen, 38, was the third inmate in two months to die in the jail. He was being held on murder charges.

‘Active’ weather brings rain, snow, hail, fresh powder to Snohomish County

Up to an inch of snow could accumulate in the lowlands. Three inches of rain could fall in Darrington. And Stevens Pass is “doing quite well.”

Jails had ‘immunity’ to lawsuits over overdoses — so her family settled

In 2018, Denise Huffer died of a methamphetamine overdose in her cell at the Snohomish County Jail. Her family took a $50,000 deal in February.

Man, 36, identified in most recent death at Snohomish County Jail

On Jan. 15, jail staff found Brendon Tesch unresponsive in his cell. He was the fourth inmate to die in the jail since September.

Fourth inmate since September dies in Snohomish County Jail

Corrections staff found a 36-year-old man unresponsive in his cell Monday morning. He had been held in the jail since August.

After record cold spell, Snohomish County expected to warm up

Bundle up: Zero degrees forecast in Everett with wind chill

Lows will dip to single digits around Western Washington. In east county, it could drop to 16 degrees below zero, with wind chill.

32 people killed in Snohomish County homicides last year

Everett had 14 homicides in 2023. The rest of the county saw 18. Already in 2024, the county has seen two homicides.
