I plan to vote for Han Tran for Northshore School Board, District 3, because she is laser focused to make education, particularly special education, the top funding priority in our legislature; and she has relationships in place to make it happen.
As an immigrant coming here as a child, Han is a proud graduate of Northshore schools which she credits with preparing her for a career in electrical engineering. She now is the mother of two boys in Maywood Elementary and has passion to use her talents to serve the community. She believes high-quality, personalized, and culturally responsive education should be accessible to all children in public funded schools.
By contrast, her opponent has made known her preference for a voucher program. Voucher programs do not lead to greater choice or inclusion for most families, or better academic outcomes. The main winners from vouchers are existing private school students, not public school students nor their families.
We don’t need to prioritize funding private schools with public money.
What we need is Han Tran advocating for fully funded public schools that serve all of our students. In Han’s own words: “Ultimately, my priority as a Northshore School Board director would be to advocate for and strengthen our public schools, ensuring that they are well-funded, inclusive, and provide equitable opportunities for all students to succeed.”
Vote for Han Tran for District 3.
