Airbus has delivered its last A300 today.
Less than a week after the world got to glimpse the first Boeing Co. 787, Airbus bids its final farewell to the plane that helped make the European company big.
The company first launched the A300 in 1969 as the first twin-engine commercial jet. The aircraft took its first flight in 1972. Over its lifetime, the A300 won 820 orders.
Airbus delivered the final A300, a freighter, to FedEx. Read the Airbus press release.
