Tom Lane, owner and dealer principal at Dwayne Lane’s Auto Family, has been nominated for the 2017 Time Dealer of the Year award. Lane oversees six Washington dealerships in Everett, Arlington, Sedro-Woolley and Burlington. He is one of 49 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 100th annual National Automobile Dealers Association convention in January.

Bartell Drugs, Oberto Beef Jerky give $25,000 check to Seattle Children’s

Bartell Drugs, in partnership with Oberto Beef Jerky, presented a $25,000 check to Seattle’s Children’s Hospital on Nov. 2. The donation represents the proceeds from an October fundraiser. For each bag of Oberto product purchased at any of Bartell’s 63 Western Washington store locations, a portion of the sale was contributed to the hospital for its Uncompensated Care Fund.

Brown Bear to offer free car washes on Friday

Brown Bear Car Wash will offer free washes to all current or former members of the military from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Veterans Day. The free Bear Essentials washes will be offered at Brown Bear’s 22 tunnel wash locations. The offer operates on an honor system and no verification or documentation is required.

Everett’s Fluke Corp. invites students to demonstrate their skills and innovation in the 2016 Fluke Connect Student Contest. Student teams use Fluke Connect wireless tools and software to collaborate and solve real-world operational problems. Applications and business cases are due by Nov. 18.
