Providence General Foundation awarded Phil and Kelly Johnson its Budd Gould Award at the 31st Annual Epicurean Affair on March 14 at Anthony’s Homeport Restaurant in Everett.
The award is presented each year to honor those who have had an extraordinary impact on Providence and the local community. Providence General Foundation is the fundraising organization for Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Phil Johnson, who gave $1 million to the Campaign for Providence, is the founder of Millstone Coffee. He started the Millstone in 1981, and sold it to Procter & Gamble in 1994 and then started Cascade Coffee, one of the top coffee roasting and supply companies in the country, where he still serves as chairman today.
While they have a home in Hawaii and travel extensively following their recent marriage, the Johnsons call Everett their home. Kelly Johnson relocated to Everett from California where she works in the music industry.
