EVERETT — Dutch Bros. Coffee plans to open in Everett on Tuesday, the coffee chain’s first stand in the Puget Sound area.

The location at 2202 E Broadway plans to offer 16-oz. drinks free all day. The site will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. although it will close at 10 p.m. the first day.

The fast-growing chain based in Grants Pass, Oregon, features specialty coffee drinks, smoothies, freezes, teas and a private-label Blue Rebel Energy drink. It also sells grab-and-go snacks. It has a distinctive windmill logo with a blue-and-white color scheme.

The local owner and operator is Teal Anderson, who started working for the company in Bend, Oregon, after high school in 2007. She later worked for the stands in the Portland area where she moved to pursue her education.

She rose in the company and eventually moved to Grants Pass where she became what is called one of the Mobsters, a team of top employees who travel to new locations to train new baristas and instil the Dutch Bros. culture.

This will be her first franchise. The stand is expected to employ about 30 people.

“I’m excited to open my shop,” Anderson said in a statement. “My hope is that the love from my stand will be a positive influence on the community of Everett.”

Dutch Bros. operates more than 265 locations in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado and Arizona. The stands are already in Eastern Washington and south of Olympia.
