Landau Associates has hired Daniel Simpson as a project geotechnical engineer in its Edmonds office. He has five years of experience in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. Simpson holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Peoples Bank to hold open house on new Edmonds branch

Peoples Bank will hold a celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdayon July 13 to mark the opening of its new Edmonds branch. The new branch is located at 111 Main St., Suite 102, Edmonds. Everett’s Electric Mirror earns patent for lighted mirror

Everett’s Electric Mirror, a premier manufacturer of lighted mirrors and mirror TVs, has been awarded a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its method of manufacturing lighted mirrors. The company’s 42nd patent protects the company’s right to solely utilize this American-made technology. The latest patent covers 90 percent of Electric Mirror’s lighted mirror products.

First Financial wins financial literacy award

On June 25, First Financial Northwest Bank was presented with the Washington Bankers Association 2016 Financial Literacy Award and the 2016 Innovation Award. This award honors member banks for providing a valuable service to their community. First Financial Northwest Bank, which has offices in Mill Creek and Edmonds, was recognized for its financial literacy education program with Renton High School.
