A350 launch aid is not just a bone of contention in trans-Atlantic trade wars, it’s a hot-buttom domestic issue too. That’s the lesson to be learned from the latest news from Britain, where aerospace workers are staging protest rallies in hopes of forcing the Blair government to ante up 380 million pounds (let’s see, that’s … about $666 million … hmm…)
Key Quote, from Tuesday’s Daily Post in Wales: “Airbus said it will build the new A350 jet — a rival for US manufacturer Boeing’s Dreamliner. But it has yet to confirm where the wings will be made. There are fears the Flintshire factory will lose out on later projects if it does not get the go-ahead to build the carbon composite wings, putting thousands of jobs at risk.”
