Zak Stoltz, a Kamiak High School graduate, is getting exposure for his award-winning short film, “In Frame,” thanks to the Pixar hit “Up.”
“In Frame” is showing before “Up” at Cinebarre, a small theater chain with four locations nationwide, including a newly opened eight-screen theater at 6009 SW 244th St., Mountlake Terrace.
Stoltz, a film student who just finished his junior year at Occidental College in Los Angeles, spent almost 200 hours making “In Frame.” The quirky tale features a young man who is trapped in a movie. He can’t walk off screen without bumping into an invisible barrier that others pass through with ease.
The comedic film won the best animation award at the Shorttakes XV Film Festival at UCLA.
