Talk about one-stop shopping.
At this event, shoppers can buy furniture, decor and a five-bedroom house.
At Inspiration House, everything is for sale, even the 2013 Ford Explorer in the driveway.
The five-day spree, April 17 to 21, is a partnership between Ruffles &Rust and Mietzner Home Builders.
It works like this: Shoppers pay $10 admission at the door of the new Snohomish home that’s furnished to the hilt.
Inside the staged home are more than 1,000 vintage, new and handcrafted items.
Buyers can score the rolling pin on the kitchen counter or the pillow off the bed. Or they can skip the small stuff and just buy the 2,840 square-foot, 2 1/2 bath house listed for $489,990.
“We’re going to maximize every inch of that house,” said Timi Weathers of Ruffles &Rust.
Items include $5 scented soaps and a $2,500 custom sofa.
“There will be a price point for everybody,” Weathers said.
Most prices are fixed. “If someone came in and bought everything it would be totally negotiable,” she said.
It’s OK to look and not buy. The event is a showcase for people to get inspiration (hence the name) for “infusing” vintage finds with everyday modern life, she said.
“It’s how we incorporate the new with the old. The reality is that’s how we all live. We all get stuff passed down from our grandmothers and aunts, and we don’t know what to do with it.
“So why not incorporate the items given to you? Don’t save them. Use them.”
The house is at 619 Emory Drive in a new plat of nine homes behind Snohomish High School. No need to buy tickets to ballgames. It’s possible to watch the action on the high school football field while soaking in the upstairs bathtub.
Other features of the Craftsman-style home include carriage-style garage doors, a covered front porch with a picket railing and dormer windows.
Small items can be taken the day of purchase. Large furniture items, such as bed frames, can be picked up on Sunday afternoon after the event.
Merchants will set up shop in the garage with additional “cash and carry” merchandise.
Vendors include Seaworthy Home, Cateye Girls, Shabby Shack Boutique, Circle Creek Home, Julie &JanMarie from Cranberry Cottage, Vintage Coupe and Cottage Whites.
