Kevin Zobrist

7 p.m. March 4, University Book Store

In his new book, “Native Trees of Western Washington,” WSU Extension forestry professor Kevin Zobrist, based in Snohomish County, presents a comprehensive portrait of the native trees that make up the enchantingly lush and beautiful forests of Western Washington. With text and color photographs, Zobrist brings to life more than 32 species of trees. The slide show presentation at the store, 15311 Main St., Mill Creek, is free, and Zobrist will sign books.

6:30 p.m. March 7, Third Place Books

With special interest in the current Middle East, retired surgeon and Edmonds writer Dr. Lloyd Johnson turned to fiction writing. “Cry of Hope” is the sequel to “Living Stones.” It follows Ashley Wells, an American graduate student from Seattle and her fiance Najid, a Palestinian Christian, as they become involved with a Jerusalem hospital following a demonstration that turns violent. Third Place is located at 17171 Bothell Way NE in Lake Forest Park.

2:30 p.m. March 8, PUD auditorium

The author of the New York Times bestseller “The Boys in the Boat,” along with the daughter (Judy Rantz Willman) and granddaughter (Jen Huffman) of his main character Joe Rantz plan to speak at a fundraiser for the Lake Stevens-based North Cascades Crew at the PUD, 2320 California St., Everett. 7 p.m. March 10, University Book Store

Every love story has two sides. In the latest installment of her bestselling “Thoughtless” romance series, S.C. Stephens tells the story of the romance that changed many lives.
