The five murals, sponsored by the Edmonds Mural Society for downtown Edmonds, are close to being done. The last two are in progress, with one expected to be completed in the next day or two and the other finished Sept. 6.
“Darkness Reflected” can be seen taking shape on the brick wall facing Fourth Avenue S at 330 Dayton St. This is a collaborative mural, with the image an award-winning photo by Meadowdale High School art student Pierce Pronovost. This dramatic image is being painted on the wall by another Meadowdale High art student, Sami Sully.
The final mural features Edmonds’ underwater marine sanctuary. In this mural, divers are enjoying sunken boats and a giant Pacific octopus. This mural can be found taking shape on the wall at 101 Main St., at the Waterfront Coffee Shop. Michiko Tanaka is the muralist.
