Brando is a laid back guy. He has lived with other cats and enjoys their company. He would like a quiet home where he can relax in the window. Brando has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism which is the excessive production of thyroid hormone. This is easily managed with an inexpensive daily medication which Brando is tolerating very well. There is also a curative treatment called radioactive iodine that can be pursued through your regular veterinarian. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
The Everett Animal Shelter hosts thousands of stray and unwanted animals every year. Some are adopted right away, but some sit in the shelter for weeks at a time, waiting for a home. The shelter has dogs and cats, as well as some rabbits and birds, all looking for a loving home.
All pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given a identifying microchip before they are adopted. Take a look at some of the dogs, cats and other animals that are available for adoption at the shelter now.
If you’re interested in adopting an animal, the shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 425-257-6000.
Chloe is a beautiful, soft, senior kitty looking for a special person to adopt her. She is about 14 years old and has some spinal pain. She takes daily (liquid) medication for this. Chloe has been declawed so she’ll need to remain an indoor only cat. Obviously, since she’s rather fragile, it would be best if she were the only pet in an home with no young children. Chloe loves to gaze at you with her gorgeous sky blue eyes while you pet her head. Come meet her today! (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
PeeWee is a 13 year old gal who sports a shiny tuxedo pattern. She is a very low-key cat who does fine with her independent time, but also loves a nice lap to curl up on. She will be getting a dental cleaning prior to adoption and then will be fit as a fiddle for her new home! She would be great for a home looking for a mellow kitty. Pepper loves to hang out with his people. He enjoys having his head petted only. He talks and gets very playful with his toys and runs around like a young kitten. Pepper can become stressed easily living with other pets and kids. To help Pepper lower his stress, he will need to have places to hide throughout the home. His new home will also need to be both pet free and kids free. (Arleigh Movitz/Everett Animal Shelter)
Festivities will include art classes, garden vendors and live music.
