Hey, kids, if you’re interested in learning to sew, now is the time to sign up for Camp Stitch-A-Lot 2009.
The Washington State University Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program is offering three weeks of summer sewing classes for ages 8 to 17 at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
Class sessions are 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. June 22 to 26, July 6 to 10 and July 20 to 24. They offer “Introduction to Sewing,” “Basic 1,” “Basic 2,” “Awesome Accessories,” “FashionRe-Sta,” a fashion restyling class, and, new this year, “Quilt Camp” and “Beginning Knit and Crochet.”
Students provide their own sewing machines. Free orientation and a sewing machine clinic will be from 6 to 8 p.m. June 15. Projects made during camps will qualify for entry at the Evergreen State Fair in August in Monroe.
Registration is required. Prerequisites and age minimums may affect class availability. Fees are $35 per three-hour, five-day class.
