Ever been to the world premiere of a music video?
Well, you can on Sunday, for free.
At 4 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett, the public is invited to the first showing of “Lovesick Crazy,” conceived and shot by students at Marysville Getchell High School with the help of The High School Video Project. For seating of groups of six or more, call the theater box office at 425-258-6766.
The video features the music of Seattle soul singer Mycle Wastman, a former contestant on TV’s “The Voice.” Wastman plans to perform at the premiere. Opening for his concert will be Marysville Getchell senior Theresa Ambat. Both singers will have CDs for sale at the premiere.
The evening also includes a special viewing of the behind the scenes documentary “The Making of Lovesick.”
Michael Thomas, creative director of Insignis Media, No Fear Productions and the High School Video Project, said that the song “Lovesick Crazy” is a “funky late 1970s kind of groove about being in love.”
“It is an amazing song, but here is the way-cool twist. The 50-member production team and cast for the video project was made up of high school students from Marysville,” Thomas said. “They helped write, shoot, direct and drive the entire project. This is a dynamic interactive way for an artist to get a high quality product and for the students to have real world, hands on experience in the media industry.”
