Mukilteo Garden and Quilt Tour: The Mukilteo Way Garden Club is seeking gardens to feature in the 2021 Mukilteo Garden and Quilt Tour. The club will be previewing gardens this summer for this popular biennial event held in partnership the Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters. Call 425-870-1775 or go to www.mwgc.org.

Tour the arboretum: Still playing it safe? You can tour the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens virtually. Go to www.evergreenarboretum.com and click on the Virtual Tour tab. View dozens of photos of the sculpture garden, rock garden, Japanese maple grove, conifer garden, small urban tree walk and more. Or tour the gardens by appointment in groups no larger than five. Plan you tour one month in advance and make an appointment by calling 425-257-8597 or emailing contactus@evergreenarboretum.com.

Get wild: The Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks, hosts presentations the third Wednesday of the month. The next presentation, “Nearshore Habitats” is set for 7 p.m. Aug. 19 via Zoom. Jerilyn Ritzman, Shore Stewards coordinator for WSU Extension Island County, will lead the presentation. She will highlight the nearshore habitats you’re also helping protect when you take good care of your property. Call 360-387-2236 or go to www.camanowildlifehabitat.org.

Blueberry bounty: The Snohomish County Fruit Society is hosting a presentation on “Blueberries” at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 via Zoom. Lisa DeVetter will give tips on growing blueberries in your own back yard. DeVetter is an assistant professor of small fruits in the Horticulture Department at the Washington State University, specializing in raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. Master Gardener Hotline & Diagnostic Clinic: Call, email or set up a web conference with a master gardener. Snohomish County’s walk-in clinic at the WSU Extension office in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett, is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Put your garden to bed: Master gardener John Marsh will present “Putting Your Garden to Bed” 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens, 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Marsh will explain what you need to do this fall to get your garden ready for winter. He will go over perennials, shrubs, soil improvement, mulching and more.
