Kelly Kate Warren: An injury ends her PCT hike

She was chosen by the Pacific Crest Trail Association to be a P3 representative for them, promoting positive trail etiquette.

Kelly Kate Warren was on episode 54, during which we talked about her upcoming attempt to thru hike the Pacific Crest Trail. She was chosen by the Pacific Crest Trail Association to be a “P3” representative for them, promoting positive trail etiquette.

Kelly Kate was injured and had to leave the trail, and her summer dreams, behind her. In this podcast we discuss some of the positive sides of her hike.

Trail maintenance and support of those working in the backcountry is a top priority for Kelly Kate. “Public Lands Management is sort of a passion of mine,” She explains when discussing the funding for jobs like the one she holds as backcountry cook for crews maintaining trails.

“Put your trash in the trash and hide your poop!” This is Kelly Kate’s message to hikers in an effort to teach them some basic Leave No Trace ethics.
