Let it snow: If the recent winter storms have given you a serious distaste for the outdoors, consider this: You can take nature back.

Get out and play in the snow with the Everett branch of the Mountaineers club, which offers a variety of winter courses.

Now is the time to sign up for the Nordic ski class, which includes three Thursday night lectures in Everett on Jan. 8, 15 and 22 and three field trips on Jan. 17, 24 and 31. Field trips will include skiing at Lake Wenatchee State Park and the Stevens Pass Nordic Center, plus another destination to be announced.

Students will learn appropriate clothing, equipment, avalanche safety and cross-country skiing techniques. Fees are $75 for members, $95 for nonmembers.
