The Pacific Northwest Folklore Society is again this year offering free public folk concerts at Everett library starting Sunday.
This is the first of three concerts the folklore society plans for this year. The society has been producing concerts at the library off and on for the last four years, said the society’s Bob Nelson.
Orville Murphy and Jerry Middaugh will perform from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett.
Murphy was raised in Kentucky and learned to play harmonica — gospels, hymns and blues — from watching his grandma and Aunt Virginia.
Middaugh plays guitar and banjo and has a repertoire that focuses on trains, cowboys, hobos, loss and women, with a little philosophy thrown in.
