Beautiful bathrooms: HGTV’s “Bang for Your Buck” is getting ready for its second season and is looking for homeowners in the greater Seattle area who are interested in featuring their recently remodeled master bathrooms on the show.
Each episode will tour three similar remodeling projects in similar price ranges in the same city.
Design and real estate experts will discuss how remodeling could affect each home’s value and offer inspiring ideas.
Send photos of your master bathroom and an application request to BSchledewitz@highnoonentertainment.com or call Brooke Schledewitz at 303-712-3168.
Taping will begin soon, so applications are due immediately. Renovations must have taken place within the past three years.
Soils and such: The Washington State University Snohomish County Extension is offering two gardening classes Wednesday: “Soil Preparation” from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and “Year-Round Gardening” from noon to 2 p.m. at extension offices at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
In the soil class, learn why properly prepared garden soil can make the difference between an average vegetable garden and one with extra large, flavorful vegetables packed with vitamins and nutrients. Learn how to create proper drainage, aeration and pH levels.
In the year-round gardening class, discover how some of the best vegetables are produced during the warm days and cool nights of fall.
Classes cost $20 each or $35 for both. People who plan to attend both classes should bring a sack lunch. Registration is required.
