Pacifica Chamber Orchestra will offer a special gift to the community: free classical music played by professional-quality musicians.
The orchestra’s opening season concert is at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Admission is free.
“We’re working on our first season and are awaiting the approval for our nonprofit status,” wrote violinist Jo Hull. “For now we will continue to offer our music as a gift to the community.”
That music will include works by Grieg, Piston, Sibelius and Tchaikovsky.
Artistic director Fred Chu, who is also principal violinist with the Everett Philharmonic, has a dynamic, ambitious vision and plans for future seasons, Hull wrote.
