Rail Birds add banked track to roller derby action

As if the swirling, slugging, speedy action of roller derby wasn’t scintillating enough, the Tilted Thunder Rail Birds is introducing a new angle.

These women have built what they say is the first banked roller derby track for competition in Snohomish County.

The new Banked Track Roller Derby League pits the Red versus the Purple. Will it be fun? You can bank on it.

Doors open at 5 p.m. Saturday at Comcast Arena Everett, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett. The action starts at 6 p.m.

Advance tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children at the Comcast Arena box office, ComcastArenaEverett.com or 866-332-8499. On the day of the event, tickets are $17 and $12.
