If you’re a teen who doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on the holidays, why not take advantage of Schack Art Center’s free “Open Studio Night for Teens.”
There, you can make holiday cards, a tile collage or a relief painting project.
These artist-led projects will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Schack Art Center, 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett. There will also be glass-blowing demonstrations, a chance for a teen to win a membership to Schack and holiday refreshments.
Participants will have a chance to view an exhibit of artwork “The Women Painters of Washington,” which is part of Schack’s annual Holiday Art Show.
Artist demonstrations and hands-on activities include 3-D holiday cards with Anna Mastronardi Novak; “text tiles” — mini collages on tiles, scrap wood and cardstock with decorative text — with Celeste Douville; relief printmaking with Bonnie Crane; and painting with sharpies with Tinnel Hillis. The sharpies technique will be used on fabric; material will be provided or kids can bring their own T-shirt.
