Monroe student wins contest
Park Place Middle School eighth-grader Josh Bailey’s poster won a contest sponsored by the Monroe Lions Club.
The poster was among 375,000 entries submitted worldwide in the 24th annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest, said school spokeswoman Rosemary O’Neil.
Lions Clubs all over the world are sponsoring the contest to emphasize the importance of peace to young people.
When asked what peace meant to him, the 12-year-old said: “No fights and equal balance.”
