50 YEARS AGO (1959)
Eva Keezer, Rose Hill School cook, was honored at a reception of the home of Johannas Watness on the occasion of her retirement. Keezer, 72, had been cooking at Rose Hill in Mukilteo the past 16 years. She was presented a radio as a parting gift from those who had worked with her.
Milton Morris was elected president of the South Everett Lions Club this week. Other new officers were Clifford Brecht, Robert Alexander, Cecil Hazen, Harold Suchan, John Martin, Bob Schultz, Cyril Richards, Marvin Wilson, Bill Dawson and Ray Moore.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Equipped with sleeping bags and lawn chairs, several parents and children camped out last night on a windy sidewalk outside Mountlake Terrace Elementary School. They were waiting for a chance to enroll their children today in a sought-after all-day kindergarten, first of its kind in the Edmonds School District.
A proposed $20 million six-story glass and granite office complex for Lynnwood received a green light from its financial backers, paving the way for an August 1985 grand opening. The Fisher Business Center was slated for a 10-acre site southwest of Alderwood Mall.
