50 YEARS AGO (1959)
E. Don Moe, executive director of Parkland Lutheran Children’s Home, was leaving at the end of the month on a trip to Alaska to study the need for child care services. He planned to visit six or eight cities to determine the possibility of Parkland Lutheran Children’s Home extending its services to that area. He expected to be in Alaska about 16 days to conduct the survey.
Marilyn Wyrens, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. R.G. Wyrens, 4830 Seahurst, Everett, would sing with the junior choir today at First Presbyterian Church. In churches all over the county, members of choirs sang the songs of faith for Easter Sunday.
25 YEARS AGO (1984)
Dan Foxe was the newest member of the Marysville Planning Commission while Jack Lovell and Donna Andersen were recent appointees to the Marysville Civil Service Commission.
Six members of Cub Pack 24, sponsored by the Martha Lake Community Club, recently advanced to Boy Scouts with cubbing’s highest rank, the Arrow of Light Award. They were Jim Baker, Jacob Bowyer, Todd Lowthian, Allan Ragoway, Erick Schultz and Danny Skrabak.
