50 years ago (1961)
Bill Everett, department manager for Klein Motors, stood with three new models the firm was now selling, Comet, Mercury and Lincoln Continental. Klein also sold Fords, Ford trucks, Thunderbirds and Falcons. The firm offered service in a second outlet in Marysville.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wayt, 440 Dunham, Arlington, were observing their 50th anniversary with an open house in their home.
25 years ago (1986)
If Sally Johnson of Marysville could’ve talked to state lawmakers opposed to a mandatory seat-belt law, she would’ve told them that without them in two crashes she might not be here. To her pleasure the State Transportation Committee approved such legislation and now it would go to the voters.
Plans for a new Fred Meyer store in Marysville were currently being studied by city officials.
The store would be located just north of the K-Mart store.
