Catholic Young Adults of Snohomish County was sponsoring a dance at St. Mary Magdalen Parish Hall. Music would be provided by the Centars: Jim Havelin, Jim Russell, Lance Christensen, John Hoogstad and Rick Leuth. Co-chairing the dance were Virginia Ward and John Bourasaw.
Dorothy Triplett of the Coin Operated Laundry at Frontier Village, Lake Stevens, had a storeroom full of items left by customers since last fall. She hoped that folks would claim their items, from sheets to socks.
25 years ago (1986)
John Martinis was giving up his seat on the county council to become Snohomish County Executive Willis Tucker’s top aide. Although the two had openly disagreed on issues in the past, Tucker said Martinis was the only person he had considered for the position.
About 25,100 General Telephone customers were without service for about 45 minutes yesterday when a switch broke at the company’s Casino Central office. The problem came on the heels of the windstorm that knocked out power in south Everett and Mukilteo. Company spokesman Tom Borgford said the outage affected 347, 348, 353, 355 and 356 prefixes.
