Susan Lynn Hegeberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Hegeberg, 1814 Baker Ave., was 2 years old today. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. B.E. Neibergall, Everett, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hegeberg, Marysville. Great-grandmothers were Mrs. Charlotte Galloway, Everett, and Mrs. Mary Hegeberg, Mount Vernon.
Repeating the singles championships they won last year, Monroe High School’s Cynthia Green and Lynn Tjerne won first and second singles titles in the Snohomish County Girls Athletic Association tennis playoffs. Both girls went through the season undefeated.
25 years ago (1987)
Joe Ollom, Jason Grosser and Ken Wilson combined to pitch a two-hitter to lead the Everett American Legion baseball team to a 10-1 victory over Renton. Eric Haldi led the offense with three hits for Everett. Chris Vines, Ken Stone and Dan Zoolkoski each drove in two runs.
