50 years ago (1962)
Pfc. Jerry M. Reed was visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon C. Reed, 3801 Wetmore Ave., prior to sailing for Korea. An Everett High School graduate in 1956, he was student body president at Everett Junior college in 1958. He also attended the University of Washington.
Twin City Foods held its annual Frozen Foods party Friday and once again those in attendance had many pleasant memories. Tip Guttormsen got his usual good “dew” on his baked salmon, which included both white and red salmon.
25 years ago (1987)
Jacqueline Diles of Arlington, was named north Snohomish County’s Mother of the Year by Soroptimist International of Marysville. She was nominated by her husband, Jerry, for her love and care of their two children and their four other youngsters with disabilities that they had adopted.
Linn Epperly, a former member of the Mill Creek City Council, was to rejoin the seven-member board after being elected by a council vote during a special meeting yesterday. He was replacing Fred Nelson who left the council for work reasons. Epperly worked for the Snohomish County Public Works Department.
