Nathan Stark will use his operatically trained voice on Saturday to thank the Everett community for supporting him as he pursues his career as a singer.
Stark will perform a selection of songs and operatic arias from Handel, Mozart, Strauss, Verdi, Rossini, Wagner and Copeland during a free concert at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett.
Stark, a bass, will be accompanied by David McDade, the head of coach accompanists for the Seattle Opera.
Stark started in musical theater and then switched to opera and has been a featured recitalist throughout the United States, Europe and China.
In fall 2005, Stark sang for then-President George W. Bush and former First Lady Nancy Reagan at the opening ceremony for The Air Force One exhibit at The Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif.
Stark has been a soloist for Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Brahms’ “Requiem,” Handel’s “Messiah,” Bach’s “Cantata No. 70,” among others. Additionally, he has performed with the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music Philharmonia Orchestra, The Beijing National Symphony and the Long Beach Opera, according to his biography.
Stark earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in opera performance at California State University at Long Beach. He is currently in the post-graduate artist diploma program at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in opera performance.
