Move over, Evite.
Meet artsy, gorgeous pingg.
It’s a free e-invitation, announcement and event-managing Web site that offers stylish electronic correspondences — not just glorified Web pages — that are actually suitable for printing.
You can send simultaneous invitations via e-mail, snail mail, text messaging and even your Facebook network. If you go for the snail-mail option, pingg will print, stamp and mail invitations for $1.25 per invite, plus postage.
Pingg, which turned a year old this month, also allows users to create a coordinated, customized event site with photos, videos, gift and charity registries, tools for collecting cash gifts and RSS feeds. If you want to go all out, it’s possible to pay for access to a premium gallery of more than 2 million images.
Just like other e-invite sites, pingg allows you to manage RSVPs, lists, guest messaging, follow-ups, reminders, last-minute changes, thank-you notes and e-cards.
Why does pingg have that seemingly extra G? No reason, really, said a pingg spokeswoman, though it does help distinguish the company from Ping-brand golf products.
