Smokin66 to perform Saturday
If you want to get your dance on by trying out a new sound in downtown Everett, check out a free concert by the band Smokin66, which will play at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Tracey’s Place, 1717 Hewitt Ave. The group plays a selection of danceable tunes along with more melodic songs that showcase the vocals of singer Shannon Danks, who is also a local painter and mosaic artist and whose voice conjures up a combination of Janis Joplin and Jefferson Airplane’s Grace Slick. Other band members include Todd Perkins on bass and vocals, Mad Mike Jacobsen on guitar and Gary Dade on drums. After Tracey’s Place, Smokin66 plays Feb. 12 and March 19 at Big Daddy’s Bar and Grill in Woodinville.
