The author will talk about and sign copies of her book “Coins in the Fountain,” which describes her enchanting, puzzling and sometimes exasperating 10 years in Rome while working for the United Nations. The library is at 2702 Hoyt Ave.

7 p.m. May 2, Meyedenbauer Center

Ohio Gov. Kasich, a former presidential candidate, will talk about his new book “Two Paths: America Divided or United.” The center is at 11100 NE Sixth St., Bellevue. Tickets are available online through Brown Paper Tickets. Each ticket includes a copy of the book. Hosted by Third Place Books.

Jones will share secrets to becoming a successful humor writer and some of the mistakes he’s made along the way. The library is at 9701 271st St. NW.

Adrian Patayon

Noon to 4 p.m., May 6, Work Opportunities

Patayon, of Everett, will sign copies of his book “Adrian’s Aloha Song,” during a Work Opportunities art show at 6515 202nd St. SW, Lynnwood. The book is a memoir about Patayon’s struggles with and triumphs over living with cerebral palsy, alcoholism and depression.

Jemma Westing and Steve Mould

7 p.m. May 16, University Book Store, Mill Creek

Bring your young scientists to meet two inspiring authors: Westing, who in “Out of the Box” offers 25 cardboard model projects; and Mould, who in “How to be a Scientist” teaches kids to think like scientists using 40 simple activities. Free.
